“They will be landing an airship,” said Officer Eric Priessman of California Highway Patrol. “So that does imply injuries.”
The call was reported shortly before 11:45 a.m. and emergency responders traveled north from Castaic to reach the scene, which was four miles south of Vista Del Lago. A Sigalert was issued for the incident.
“We have a black toyota pickup truck and a big-rig (involved),” said Priessman.
Initial CHP reports indicated that the truck hit the big-rig and flipped several times.

This is likely because first responders need room to land the helicopter.
“Nobody was trapped,” said Inspector Randall Wright with the Los Angeles County Fire Department. “But they are requesting an air unit.”
Priessman added that Animal Control officials were called for a medium sized dog of an unknown breed at the scene, but it is unknown what involvement, if any, the dog played in the crash.
The collision blocked the No. 1, 2 and 3 lanes, but by 12:30 p.m., all lanes on the roadway were re-opened.
