Bouquet Canyon Road Crash Sends One To Hospital

  1. This is absolutely ridiculous, in our cities streets and surrounding foothills it has become clear we have a problem with speed. I pray this person survives his injuries. Accidents along our city streets are sadly death traps with crosses appearing along every single street where people are suppose to be able to cross safely and yet they cannot. Further up in our canyon roads up in our foothills speed also must be a factor. So many people traveling through our valley to get to other communities are being injured or killed, pedestrians are being injured and killed along our city streets. How many more injuries, how many more deaths will it take for the city and the county and the state to make changes that reflect deserved safety no matter their method of transportation. This is ridiculous and sickening and senseless and it is way pass the time for leaders to address roadway safety for all of us. Honestly, I am so sorry I ever let my own son cross Bouquet Canyon Road, we learned so late that the speed limits in vehicular verses pedestrians are not safe and no pedestrian should be expected at our city limits.. Older communities and their children are never thought of as we plow down the mountains to the forest boundaries and shove as many new houses in these canyons without any regard to pedestrian safety, without any regard to those that drive through the country meandering hills and mountains. FYI readers, there was an accident by Central Park last night, at least that traffic incident was reported because multiple people witnessed an incident with a motorcyclists being down at Seco and Bouquet, they witnessed someone being put in a gurney, others saw the incident, others got caught in the traffic and oddly this accident is not reported anywhere. SCV News sources state there are no reports filed with our Sheriffs Department. All of this is getting ridiculously out of control. I have mentioned before, if I knew how unsafe our speed limits were to our children and all of those that dare to cross a road will nearly always result in death I would have never allowed Wyatt to cross this darn road or any of these roads with unsafe speed limits for pedestrians and apparently in the canyons the accidents are also on the rise. Our government has a responsibility to protect all of those that use these roads, protect not just drivers but those that walk, bike, etc., as far as the meandering canyon roads there it is also becoming increasingly clear that those roads are unsafe. We do not need to senselessly lose another innocent person. This is shameful and for those that have lost a loved one, it is such a heart breaking, preventable, tragic loss and as a parent, oh as a parent the pain in indescribable especially when you did your very best to teach your children to never jaywalk, do the right thing, walk in a way that you are opposing oncoming traffic in case an oncoming driver is not paying attention. I believe some areas will require reduction of speed limits. I suspect many, many others should they ever walk in our shoes and God knows I hope that you never go through this, I am sure if God forbid you ever do, you would look closely and sadly realize that the roads and streets we encourage our children to use, in order to reduce traffic, in order to reduce pollution, in order to encourage healthy life styles. The problem is, there is no way, no way a pedestrian survives being hit at 45 and 50 miles an hour. In vehicle verses pedestrian a whopping 85 percent of pedestrians will die and yet, and yet our set speed limits are beyond those awful statistics and many, many drivers well exceed the posted speed limits. The madness must stop, here in our city, in our canyons. It simply is doable if the public helps push our elected officials to make traffic safety a number one priority, if not now, then when? How many more people must be killed or injured to make it matter to our elected officials. sure the blue lights in our city is a help but law enforcement cannot be there 24/7 and honestly its like a raceway out there when it is not rush hour traffic. The Bouquet Corridor is apparently a problem from the city through the canyons for all of us that transverse them. Shameful.

  2. @teresa; shut up. You wasted your time typing all that and no ones going to read it. Get a life
