Carousel Ranch hosted the 23rd annual “Heart of the West” Saturday to raise funds for continued programming towards equestrian therapy for children with disabilities, according to officials.

The event took place on Aug. 24 at the Carousel Ranch grounds, where participants enjoyed a night filled with dancing, casino games and a live auction, as well as a horseback demonstration from some of the students, according to event organizers.

“Saturday night was epic in every single way. The majesty of Heart of the West at Carousel Ranch will never be lost on me,” said Jeanna Crawford, founder of the event. “When I created this event 15 years ago, this is what I envisioned.”

Since 1997, Carousel Ranch has “created unique and individualized programs to meet each student’s specific needs and goals, a place where therapy is disguised as fun,” according to the Carousel Ranch website.

“I believe that every guest can see and feel what their love and generosity has grown into the last 23 years. I know that every child and young adult who receives our services do,” Crawford said.

The event raised over $450,000 throughout the event Saturday, with over $4,450,000 raised in 15 years, according to officials.
