College of the Canyons Athletics officials announced its 2017 Hall of Fame class of inductees, which will be celebrated in January.

“This year’s class of inductees holds a special place in my heart,” said Chuck Lyon, COC Interim Dean of Physical Education, Kinesiology, Athletics and Athletic Director, who also served as head coach of the college’s 2004 National Championship football team. “Once again, the Hall of Fame committee has done a tremendous job of selecting student-athletes, coaches and teams that have left a significant mark on the Athletic Department, and will now be honored for exemplifying the ideals of what it means to be a College of the Canyons Cougar.”

The Hall of Fame Class was chosen by the Hall of Fame Committee members, which includes: Cindy Biehahn, development coordinator, College of the Canyons Foundation; Mike Halcovich, equipment manager, College of the Canyons; Carol Johnston, athletic technician, College of the Canyons; Albert Loaiza, athletic counselor, College of the Canyons; Chuck Lyon, Interim Dean of Physical Education, Kinesiology, Athletics and Athletic Director, College of the Canyons; Jesse Munoz, director of public relations and sports information, College of the Canyons; and Chad Peters, interim associate athletic director, College of the Canyons.
