Congresswoman Katie Hill, D-Agua Dulce, has taken to social media to respond to President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency to fund a barrier at the U.S.-Mexico border.
On Friday morning, Trump announced he has signed an executive order to declare a national emergency in an effort to secure funds for a barrier at the southern border.
“The order is signed,” Trump said. “And I’ll sign the final papers as soon as I get into the Oval Office. And we will have a national emergency.”

Hill took to Facebook after the announcement was made to air her thoughts on the President’s decision.
“Declaring a National Emergency is absurd,” Hill said. “To consider cutting funding from real emergencies — like cleanup and forest fire mitigation after the deadliest fire season in CA’s history — is irresponsible and dangerous. Enough with these political games that hurt the American people.”
President Trump’s decision comes after it was announced that he was expected to sign a 1,169-page spending bill that was passed by Congress that would prevent another partial government shutdown, as well as allocate just over $1 billion for a border barrier.
“The ability to declare a National Emergency is given to the President to act when Congress doesn’t have time to,” Hill said in another post. “Not when Congress acts and the President disagrees. This is why the American people don’t have faith in their government — the political games have to stop.”
The President’s declaration is the 32nd active emergency for the United States, and the 58th national emergency in the nation’s history, according to officials.

We need effective border security. This includes walls, fences, etc. Why is that so hard for democrats to accept?
Trump ran his presidential campaign on fear and by appealing to your prejudices.
He lied when he said Mexico would pay for the wall.
He lied when he said tariffs would pay for the wall.
He is lying when he says the wall will be built. It won’t.
He has no understanding of how our government is to operate under our Constitution.
He continues acting like a would-be dictator without regard for human consequences.
Fortunately we now have, as a result of the 2018 elections, democratic governance returning to Washington acting in accordance with our laws.

I am sorry Denny but the Democrats are the ones who are not following the constitution. They each took an oath to uphold the constitution and clearly their job is to protect the citizens of this country from foreign invasion! We are being invaded!! President Trump told you EXACTLY what he was going to be forced to do… if you Representives didn’t do the job you were elected to do! So… it was fully YOUR choice! Now he’s doing what needs to be done to protect our country, in spite of the lack of reasonable support from Elected Officials who agreed the Border needed Security WAAAAAY before President Trump was even in office! Another campaign promise fulfilled!!
Unfortunately… We now have, as a result of the 2018 elections a Democratic Majority Congress whose efforts are only for the support of Illegal Immigrants trying to enter this country illegally, along with human traffickers, drug smugglers and violent criminals wishing to come to this country with ZERO desire to contribute to this countries well being. I am for immigration, Legal Immigration. Which is not the pathway the Democrats are now offering. They are putting our nations sovereignty at risk with their pandering acts to appease future voters and current radical agenda.
Democrats do not want to protect the U.S. citizens, that is ever more obvious. If they did they would stop this charade of deceit in which the main stream media is also guilty of selectively reporting on and presenting the misleading the truth to those that get their information from limited sources. Listen to the media and the news these days, it seems like its written from a single source script and repeated over and over, repeated by lazy so called journalist. Read the current Bill and understand all of the “poison pills” the Democrats have put within this Bill. Its bad for America what this Dem Party has done. It will supply more problems for this nation then ever before. Illegal Immigration costs this country Billions & Billions each year from crime, jails, health care, social programs, education, etc. and it’s going to get worse. The infrastructure in place can’t support this anymore. Katie, you are pandering your parties agenda, you’ve sold out the American Public. Shame on you.
I do understand that people don’t like our current president, but some have become blind to the shenanigans that the Democratic Party is doing to our once great country while hiding behind the “resist movement” in opposing this president.

How about we stop the sarcasm and look at the facts. ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS are estimated to cost the US tax payers $80,000 each per year*. So far this year, in TWO months over 13,000 ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS have entered the US at a cost of $18,000,000,000*
We have to build some sort of substantial barrier to slow down this influx o ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS AND DRUGS into our country.
Miss Hill needs to look at the facts or she and all of us will soon be living in a “third world country”
