Drunk Santa Clarita Man Arrested After Punching Window

A drunk Santa Clarita man was arrested on felony vandalism Saturday after he allegedly punched a window during a verbal argument.

On Saturday, deputies responded to the 24900 block of Walnut Street in Newhall regarding a family disturbance call for service with a Santa Clarita man, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“It was reported a family member was breaking items in the home and possibly under the influence of narcotics,” Arriaga said.

Upon arrival, deputies contacted the suspect and observed signs and symptoms similar to someone under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, according to Arriaga.

“During investigation, deputies learned during a verbal argument, the suspect became upset with family members within the home,” Arriaga said. “The suspect became verbally aggressive and entered his bedroom and punched a window.”

Luis Mata, 22, from Newhall, was arrested for felony vandalism, Arriaga added.

Mata was arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station with bail set at $20,000, according to arrest records.

  1. Glad Luis Mata was arrested before he punched an innocent human!

  2. This story should probably read; “A intoxicated illegal alien punched a window in a fit of rage.”

  3. If it lived lived in the Middle East, which the Liberals aspire to, it wouldn’t have to worry about having a hand anymore!

  4. The article doesn’t say the person was illegal.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
