Deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Summer Crime Enforcement Team arrested a man in Castaic Saturday for allegedly being in possession of narcotics and a large sum of money, according to officials.
On Saturday, deputies were patrolling in Castaic when they spotted a “suspicious vehicle” on Hasley Canyon Road, according to Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the station.
After making contact with the male driver, who was reportedly on his way to San Diego, deputies discovered that he was doing “far more” than transporting marijuana plants in the bed of his truck, Miller said.
He was allegedly in possession of over 30 grams of black tar heroin and China White, along with more than $7,000 in U.S. currency.
The man was arrested for felony narcotics sales, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Residents are being asked to notify the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station if they know of any illegal drug activity in their neighborhood. Anonymous tips can also be submitted by clicking here.
