Now known as a writer, actress, director, producer, storyteller and vocalist, Richardson is sharing a true childhood event involving a stray cat in her very first short film, “Strayed.”

The film is “a dark comedy set in the colorful 1980’s where a young girl faces life or death decisions involving a stray cat, a narcissistic ‘mother’ and the pet cemetery of the rich and famous,” according to IMDB.

Richardson stars as the mother of young Thresa in the film, but is also the writer and producer of the film.

“Should you happen to catch it at an upcoming film festival, know that what you’ll see is a ‘mostly true’ truncated version of the story,” said Richardson.

“Strayed” is being screened at film festivals all around the country, including its latest premiere at the Tiburon International Film Festival and the Blackbird Film Festival.

“It was a really awesome experience being able to go on set and contribute to a really wonderful film,” said Andrew Menjivar, KHTS Radio video director, as well as script supervisor and credit designer for the film.

“Strayed” has close ties to some well-known individuals in Hollywood, including Cinematographer Adam Bricker (Netflix’s “Chef’s Table”), Line Producer Donald Reynolds Jr. (Key Grip of “Avatar” and “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”) and sound mixing by Skywalker Ranch, a movie ranch and workplace of George Lucas.

Thresa “T. Katz”  Richardson formerly co-hosted KHTS Radio’s “Friday Matinee” with George Cummings, where they brought the listening audience behind the curtain, camera, microphone and pen for a truly personal glimpse into the creative arts.

Richardson was previously involved in the children’s entertainment industry, working on hundreds of episodes of animated television shows, and has been a music and theatre instructor to hundreds of children and adults over the years.
