The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2016 at the Santa Clarita Aquatic Center, located at 20850 Centre Pointe Parkway.
Los Angeles County firefighters will be on site passing out free pre-filled sandbags, while supplies last.
A limit of 10 bags per household has been placed to ensure sandbags are available to as many attendees as possible.
The event will also offer residents the opportunity to talk to a firefighter about how to best prepare for El Niño, pick up a free copy of the Los Angeles County Emergency Survival Guide and guidance on how to properly place sandbags around their home.
For more information about the free sandbag event, please contact Stephanie English, Los Angeles County Fire Department Community Services Liaison, at (661) 250-2710 or by email.
