“Once you have a hearing loss, the hearing aids are programmed to your loss,” Aronson explained. “If you just put on a regular headset to watch TV, like the TV ears, they are not programmed to your hearing loss, so this way you are getting the natural sound as well.”

Aronson also shared the importance of assistive listening devices.

“We have what we call assistive listening devices. So now you can have a microphone that sits on the table and looks like a cell phone and picks up all the sound and brings it into your ear wirelessly, so you can hear what’s being said at the other end of the table,” she said.
