Grandparents Arrested After Medication Found In Reach Of 3-Year-Old

A grandfather believed to have been under the influence, and his wife were arrested on child endangerment charges Sunday, after deputies located prescription medication in their 3-year-old grandchild’s bedroom.

On Sunday, deputies responded to the 18100 block of American Beauty Drive in Canyon Country regarding a suspected child abuse report call, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Upon arrival, deputies contacted the grandparents of the 3-year-old victim,” Arriaga said. “They observed the grandfather had signs and symptoms similar to someone under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and the grandmother was unable to care for the child.”

During the deputies’ investigation, they noticed the child had access to several medication bottles left within his room, according to Arriaga.

Bradford and Cheryl Jordan, both 59, from Santa Clarita, were arrested for child endangerment, Arriaga said.

The two were arrested and transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail with the grandfather’s bail set at $250,000 and the grandmother’s bail set at $100,000, according to arrest records.

  1. I bet that is last time they have to baby-sit the little monster.

  2. Looks like they had enough money for bail and not a no bail warrant

  3. Maybe they had prior arrests but this high a bail, whilst they let a convicted felon with loaded firearm and identity theft out with a citation. He can kill a lot more people that the grandparents can.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
