Hart High School Baseball Hosts Alumni Game

Members of Hart High School’s baseball team and past alumni gathered for a three inning game Sunday where alumni Ryan Haag was inducted into the Hart Baseball Wall of Fame.

The baseball field was decorated in red and black Sunday to greet the Hart alumni in the annual alumni game with the varsity, junior varsity and FROSH team players.

The game kicked off at 1 p.m. Sunday but not before actress, TV personality and Hart Baseball parents Kelly Packard performed the National Anthem.

Also prior to the game was the induction of alumni Ryan Haag to the Hart Baseball Wall of Fame. Haag played second base for Hart Baseball and led Hart to the 1999 D2 CIF championship.

He continued his career with an honor-laden collegiate career at California State University-Northridge and California State University- Fresno before being drafted by the New York Yankees in the 2004 draft.

“Ryan Haag was a winner while at Hart and during his collegiate days,” said Hart baseball coach Ozella. “Ryan was an athlete prepared to achieve, and while on the field his competitive spirit was inspiring. Ryan played the game as a champion, and his honor of being selected to the Wall of Fame is quite deserving.”

Lunch was provided by the Hart Dugout Club for onlookers in the stands who watched the group of alumni play a three-inning game.
