Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital is set to host their eighth annual Kim and Steven Ullman neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) reunion online this weekend to comply with social distancing, officials said.
The event is usually held at Dr. Richard H. Rioux Memorial Park in Stevenson Ranch, however, due to the coronavirus, this year’s event is moving to a digital setting where families can attend anytime during the weekend, according to Hospital officials.
“We’re pleased to be maintaining our NICU reunion tradition this year,” said Lori Matzner, Henry Mayo director of the Center for Women and Newborns. “Although we would prefer to see our NICU families in person, we hope the activities and entertainment we have prepared for them will be fun, engaging and a means of staying connected to us.”
Despite the event being held online, viewers are set to be able to partake in a number of activities, including following instructions on how to create jungle animal-themed masks, participating in word searches and games and listening to greeting messages and stories from Henry Mayo NICU staff, as well as actors Josh Gad and Rory O’Malley, according to event organizers.
The Kim and Steven Ullman NICU provides world-class healthcare for the Santa Claritas tiniest patients close to home, supporting Henry Mayo’s vision “To create the ideal patient-centered environment to surpass expectations.”
