Highway 126 is shut down in both directions Tuesday evening near Fillmore after a five-vehicle crash, officials said.

UPDATE: 8:50 p.m. — One lane is now open in each direction of Highway 126 after a 3-hour closure, according to CHP.

The traffic collision was reported about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 126 near Cavin Road, between Fillmore and Piru, causing one person was airlifted to the hospital, according to the Ventura County Fire Department.

Initial reports declared that seven people were injured in the crash, and are in unknown condition, VC Fire officials said. One patient was reportedly airlifted to Los Robles Hospital.

The duration of the closure is unknown as of Tuesday evening, according to CHP officials.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted from the city of Fillmore onto Guiberson Road to bypass the collision, which is approximately three miles east of the city of Fillmore. Expect long delays in the area, according to the Ventura County Sheriff’s officials.
