Delgado currently serves as the director of operations and web department at KHTS, but his journey didn’t begin with this position.
After working his way up from being an intern, Delgado is set to celebrate his seven-year anniversary with KHTS next June.
“I graduated with my degree in journalism in 2012 from Chico State and I came back home to Santa Clarita,” said Delgado. “Two weeks after graduating, I actually got an internship here, and I’ve been here ever since.”
Delgado has helped in every aspect of the station, filing papers, working with the sports department and writing news.
Today, he oversees the station, making sure “the machine is running.” He also manages the radio’s website and all social media accounts.
“Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, all that,” said Delgado.
Delgado says he enjoys working with his “amazing co-workers,” especially with Kyle Jellings on the KHTS Debatable video series.
“We had a blast making those videos,” he added.
Delgado shared one of his most memorable moments while working at KHTS, which involved an unusual primate.
“We had an event, and me and Kyle Jellings got to interview a baboon,” said Delgado. “We held its hand and put headphones on him. It was pretty fun.”
