October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and with it comes millions of people across the globe wearing pink to help bring attention to this deadly disease and to raise funds for research and early detection programs.
Aiden Marshall, a seventh-grader at Rio Norte Junior High, took it upon himself to bring awareness in a creative way by dying his hair pink.
The seventh-grader expressed himself throughout the summer with colorful hairstyles and, according to his father, the 12-year-old thought up the idea to go with pink hair for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Early detection and prevention are the most impactful live saving methods and Every Woman Counts wants to make sure these services are available to every woman in California. Visit the organization’s website for more information or call 1-800-511-2300.
“NBCAM is a collaboration of national public service organizations, professional medical associations and government agencies working together to promote breast cancer awareness, share information on the disease and provide greater access to services,” according to the AstraZeneca HealthCare Foundation.
