A Long Beach man accused of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old girl at a wedding reception in Valencia last year pleaded no contest Wednesday, officials said.
Jeff Boulter, 40, entered the plea to one felony count of attempted lewd act upon a child and one misdemeanor count of indecent exposure, according to Deputy District Attorney Ani Bailey.
Boulter will have to complete 52 weeks of sex impulse counseling before his sentencing on March 18, 2020.
Boulter’s charges stem from an incident in which he allegedly dragged a child into a dark corner of a wedding reception on May 19, 2019, according to Bailey.
A server at the wedding noticed the alleged assault and confronted Boulter, who then reportedly fled.
In November 2018, Boulter was held to answer for all counts against him except counts No. 4 and 5, which include lewd acts upon a child and forcible lewd acts upon a child, according to Ricardo Santiago, a spokesperson at the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

However, during the proceedings, a San Fernando Superior Court judge ordered that Boulter would be held to answer on felony counts of kidnapping to commit oral copulation, kidnapping for child molesting, kidnapping a victim under age 14 and attempted forcible oral copulation of a victim under 14 years old, according to district attorney officials.
If convicted as charged, Boulter faces a possible maximum sentence of life in state prison.
He is currently being held at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles, with bail set at $1 million.
Boulter is scheduled to return to the San Fernando Courthouse on April 9 for a progress report.
