The meeting about the measure will take place at the Café at SCVi, located at 28060 Hasley Canyon Road. It will be held on May 16, at 6 p.m.
Measure E is a proposed measure on the June 7 ballot that will pay for up to $230 million in upgrades to the two college campuses in the Santa Clarita Valley, including upgrading classrooms and labs on both campuses and the creation of a 1,000 car parking structure at the Valencia campus.
At the seminar, Dr. Diane Von Hook, the chancellor of College of the Canyons, will share what this bond would mean to the school.
In the next dozen years, Van Hook said the COC Trustees project a 50 percent growth rate in the student population, to around 30,000 students.

The cost for taxpayers in the Santa Clarita Valley is estimated to be about $15 per $100,000 of assessed value per year.
Despite the cost, several prominent organizations have already endorsed the measure, including the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce.
“College of the Canyons is a valued partner that shares our commitment to supporting Santa Clarita’s business community and growing the local economy,” said Curtis Woods, chair of the SCV Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in a news release. “Given the college’s strategic, specific plans to expand degrees and career training programs through the facilities made possible by Measure E, we see the bond as a key investment in Santa Clarita’s future economic health.”
The event is open to the public and free to attend.
