A traffic collision involving multiple vehicles closed several lanes of the southbound I-5 Freeway in Valencia Friday evening.

Just before 4 p.m., reports were received of a traffic collision involving at least five vehicles on the southbound 5 Freeway near McBean Parkway, according to California Highway Patrol Logs.

“Only the number one lane is open,” said Officer Brandt with the CHP Traffic Management Office. “There’s traffic in the area so it’s not clear how many cars are involved or who’s stopped to look, but we have ordered at least three tow trucks.”

Three lanes of the southbound I-5 were closed near the McBean Parkway exit for an undetermined amount of time.

First responders from the Los Angeles County Fire Department did not transport anyone to local hospitals, according to a supervisor with the agency.
