“Maintaining family connections via technology is a just one of many services possible through the Community Service Grant funds,” said Carrie Lujan, spokeswoman for the city of Santa Clarita. “Our local seniors will now have access and the assistance necessary to embrace all that these computers, iPads and more have to offer them. The City is pleased to be able to provide the Senior Center with this grant and see the positive results.”
Senior Center staff is available to provide assistance with the ever-changing technology people use to connect and communicate, including items like the iPad, which was one of the items purchased with the funds.
Senior Center leadership also shared plans with the city of Santa Clarita staff about how the new technology stations will be incorporated in the new Senior Center, which is in the midst of a capital campaign being led by the Committee on Aging.
