The open house is taking place on Wednesday, July 26, from 2-3 p.m. at Mountainview Elementary, 22201 W. Cypress Place.
“Students learn in so many different ways, at so many different rates, and in so many different environments,” noted Morell. “IHS gives all students the opportunity to thrive in an environment and setting they are most comfortable and likely to succeed in.”
The IHS program is an alternative public education program offering flexibility and independence to meet the needs of children from Transitional Kindergarten through Sixth Grade, Morrell said.
Through this program, parents are provided all materials required by the California Department of Education to successfully teach state curriculum for free.
In addition, IHS will provide curriculum and resources for music/ fine arts and provide ideas and resources for extracurricular activities and field trips that will enhance your child’s educational experience, said Morrell.
“For over 25 years, Saugus Union School District has served the homeschooling community with an outstanding alternative option to public school that provides a personalized and flexible learning opportunity for children in Transitional Kindergarten through Sixth Grade,” according to a statement from Laureen Stephens, IHS Program Director. “Your commitment to providing an individualized educational program to meet the needs of your child is commendable, and we are dedicated to providing you the resources and support you seek to optimize your child’s learning.”
