Over 2,000 Lose Power In Non-PSPS Power Outages Across Santa Clarita

Several power outages unrelated to Power Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) have been reported across the Santa Clarita Valley Tuesday, affecting at least 2,000 Southern California Edison (SCE) customers in Castaic, Val Verde, Canyon Country and Saugus.

Two outages have been reported in the Castaic area, with one near Castaic Lake affecting 25 SCE customers, with the other near Ridge Route Road affecting 55 customers. Both Castaic outages are described as “repair outages” and do not have an estimated time of power returning to the affected residents.

Another outage was reported in Valencia, near the Castaic Junction on the east side of the I-5 Freeway. This outage is said to affect 215 customers, according to SCE.

A repair outage in Saugus was reported later in the afternoon. Over 750 residents north of Vasquez Canyon Road are said to be without power for an unknown duration.

The largest reported outage is one in Agua Dulce in the area east of Agua Dulce Canyon Road, where SCE officials estimate that 1,120 customers are without power with no estimated time for its restoration.

Another outage in Newhall, caused by down lines, has not yet been reflected on the SCE outage map, and an unknown number of residents and businesses have lost their power as
