Another two inches of rain with strong gusty winds are forecasted for Santa Clarita, but are expected to clear by the weekend, officials said.
Rain is predicted to start falling Tuesday, with chances of scattered showers lasting through Friday, according to Lisa Phillips with the National Weather Service.
“The bulk of the rain should come in by around 4 p.m., and could bring thunderstorms this evening,” Phillips said.
The upcoming storm could bring anywhere from half an inch to two inches of rain, with higher levels in the surrounding mountain areas, officials said.
“This system is coming in from the west with a good subtropical system, with snow levels relatively high,” Phillips said.
Snow levels are expected to be around 7,000 feet, which is higher than the local passes.
The rain is set to clear out by Saturday, with a chance of rain starting again Sunday and lasting through the beginning of next week.
