Representative Steve Knight, R-Palmdale, issued a statement in the aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting that, as of Monday afternoon, injured eight residents of Santa Clarita and killed one.

Representative Knight issued a follow-up statement in response to the incoming reports of multiple Santa Clarita residents being harmed during the Las Vegas shooting:

“Absolutely heartbreaking news coming out of Las Vegas. This horrific incident is an unfortunate reminder of the evil in our world. We are aware of multiple deaths and injuries of some constituents and I join with my community in mourning their losses and stand ready to help in any way possible. Today has been a long and upsetting day for many as we learn more about the communities across the nation who also lost family, friends, and neighbors. We must now join together to comfort one another during this time. My prayers are with the victims and their families.”
