Saugus Road Rage Suspect Arrested After Hitting Vehicle With Baseball Bat

A road rage suspect was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly followed another vehicle for 10 miles, causing damage both with his own vehicle and a baseball bat, officials said.

The road rage incident occurred just before 6 a.m. and reportedly began near Escondido Canyon and Davenport Road.

The incident ended when deputies made contact with the driver around Bouquet Canyon Road and Russ Jay Street in Saugus, said Shirley Miller, a spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“The suspect allegedly followed the victim for over 10 miles, and used a baseball bat on the victim’s vehicle, and intentionally hit the back of the victim’s vehicle with the front end of his vehicle,” said Miller.

Edgar Razo, 23, of Lancaster, was arrested and charged on felony assault with a deadly weapon, according to officials.

Razo was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station, with bail set at $30,000, according to arrest records.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
