“I just closed with a firefighter and got him into a nice condo,” said Silver, who has 12 years of experience in real estate. “(I) gave him $2,000 back, so that helped him with his closing costs, which was unbelievable for him. He had no idea the program ever existed.”

A Kern County firefighter who recently bought a home in Santa Clarita through Silver received $1,968.75 back through the SCV Homes for Heroes program, while a military family received $3,037.50 back.

“(The program) is first of all my opportunity to give back, and to not just be doing real estate for real estate purposes and for supporting my family, but for giving back to all those that give back to us every day.”

In addition to the local assistance Silver offers to Santa Clarita’s heroes, another five percent of the transaction is donated to the nationwide Homes for Heroes Foundation, which offers housing assistance to soldiers across the county coming back from war.

Silver also recently published three free real estate books designed to help homeowners sell a house: “The Secret of Wealthy Home Sellers,” “Formula to Sell Any Home– Even Hard to Sell Homes” and Santa Clarita’s “For Sale by Owner Guide.”

All three real estate books are available for free, and residents can claim their free copies online.
