Six Flags’ new park president Neal Thurman presented the construction of the new thrill ride ‘CraZanity,’ the world’s tallest pendulum ride.

“Magic Mountain is known as ‘The Thrill Park’ and will continue developing new innovative thrill rides while I’m here, like CraZanity which is getting ready to open up in the summer,” said Thurman.
This year, Six Flags will have new additions to a newly themed ‘Boardwalk’ area, including the world-record attraction, CraZanity.
“The new CraZanity is a mash-up of craziness and insane fun, an experience different from anything else we have in our unparalleled thrill ride arsenal,” said former park president Bonnie Sherman.
CraZanity is built to hold 40 riders and will reach speeds up to 75 miles per hour as they reach a world-record 17 stories high, according to park officials.
Thrill seekers will experience swinging back and forth while rotating counterclockwise as guests swing higher and higher.
The feeling of weightlessness will occur at 172 feet in the air.
“The ride itself is currently being built in Italy with the same manufacturer that has built all of the coasters in the park,” said director of maintenance and construction Tim Dofflow.

The structure is anticipated to arrive at the park during the first week of April.
“We expect it to be ready by early summer,” said facilities manager Tammyjo Nunez. “So far we’re on schedule.”
The addition of the new ride is the latest in upgrades at the park this year, with renovations being led and announced by Six Flags Magic Mountain’s new park president.
Thurman succeeds Bonnie Sherman Weber who is joining the Six Flags corporate team in Texas as senior vice president of in-park services, leading the company’s in-park revenue generating departments, including culinary services, retail, games, attractions, rentals, and parking, according to Six Flags officials.
Thurman is not a new face, considering he spent seven years at Six Flags Magic Mountain since 2007 as the director of operations.
“Having worked at Six Flags Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor previously, I look forward to ‘coming home’ and contributing to the park’s exciting future,” said Thurman.
The “Thrill Capital of the World” expects to have more changes in 2018 including dining, games and shopping.
