As a child, Ciarlante was teased and beaten up because he liked to dance and perform, so he created Tigerman to manage his anger while resisting the urge to use violence and fight back, according to Ciarlante.
In June 2000, he formed the Tigerman Campaign, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization for bully prevention.
His efforts have reached over one million children nationwide, performing over 100 shows a year at schools and community events, according to the campaign’s website.
The Tigerman Campaign continues to grow and now consists of 15 more subjects such as Eat Healthy and Exercise, Reading is Educational, Recycling, Animal Safety, etc.
Ciarlante will be performing and releasing a new costume at Stevenson Ranch Elementary School on 25820 Carroll Ln. in Newhall on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
His show will reach about 800 children during two shows at 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
