Super Bowl LII: Philadelphia Eagles Vs New England Patriots

The Philadelphia Eagles take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Follow along here for live updates from the game.

The Eagles and Patriots combined for over 1,100 yards of total offense, Tom Brady sets NFL postseason record for passing yards in a game (505) but it wasn’t enough to defeat the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nick Foles, the Eagles backup quarterback until Carson Wentz went down late in the season, earned Super Bowl LII MVP honors with 378 passing yards and four total touchdowns.

Philadelphia made two key plays in the game that ended up being the difference: on 4th and Goal from the 1-yard line with under a minute to play in the first half, Eagles head coach Doug Pederson elected to go for the touchdown instead of kicking a field goal.

He would call one of the gutsiest plays in modern Super Bowl history, a Wildcat fake reverse, pass complete to QB Nick Foles in the end zone for the touchdown.

The other came with under three minutes to go in regulation and the Eagles clinging to a 38-33 lead. There had been no sacks in the game to that point by either team, but Eagles interior pass rusher Brandon Graham beat his man inside and knocked the ball out of Patriots QB Tom Brady’s hand to cause the strip sack.

That turnover led to a Philly field goal, and that would be all she wrote.

Eagles win their first Super Bowl in franchise history (1-2 in Super Bowls).
