The SCV Education Foundation hosted its fourth annual Touch-A-Truck event in Santa Clarita.
On Saturday, November 1, the SCV Education Foundation hosted its fourth annual Touch-A-Truck event in Saugus. Honks from fire trucks and delivery vehicles filled the park accompanied by laughter of children exploring the ins and outs of each vehicle.
The event’s goal to help raise funds for the SCV Education Foundation which helps different school districts within the Santa Clarita Valley. Specifically, it fuels literacy programs for children needing assistance with learning how to read.
No matter the age of your child, they have the opportunity to interact with first responders and see all their modern day specialty equipment.
One of the most popular vehicles was the medical helicopter from Reach judging by the long line of families waiting to check out its interior and how the helicopter works.
In years past, other “unique” trucks have been present at the Touch-A-Truck event including construction vehicles and a semi-truck.
Joe Satorhelyi, the executive director of SCV Education Foundation, laments his favorite part about the event, “I love the look on the little kids faces, when their eyes light up when they see a fire truck or even the garbage truck…the wonder in their eyes I think makes it all worth it.”
