“We have a system moving down (Friday night) that will bring a 60 percent chance of rain (Saturday),” said National Weather Service official Ryan Kattel. “The mountains should expect about a quarter inch of rain.”

As stormy weather approaches, residents are advised that sandbags are available to pick up at their local fire station in preparation for any flooding.

“There will be a break between Saturday and Sunday in the rain,” said Kattel. “Sunday will then be partly cloudy until late Sunday night to Monday morning, where there will be a 100 percent chance of rain.”

The total amount of rain expected in the area during the storm system is half an inch to one and a half inches of rain, according to Kattel.

Bouquet Canyon Road is currently closed between the gates, six miles south of Spunky Canyon Road to the southern boundary of Angeles National Forest. The road was closed earlier this week in anticipation of the rainy weather, and will remain closed until further notice and the road is deemed safe.

Public Works officials ask that commuters drive safely and plan their travels accordingly.
