The Zonta Club of Santa Clarita Valley is set to host their annual Women in Service luncheon this month to honor women volunteers in SCV. 

The luncheon is scheduled for Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in an effort to celebrate the contribution made by dynamic volunteers. 

This is planned to be the 37th annual Women in Service event. 

One nominee is chosen as the recipient of the Carmen Saaro Award for “improving the status of women through community service.”

The award is named after Carmen Sarro, who the Zonta Club describes at the “eptime of the spirit of volunteerism among Zonta members.”

“The award recognizes and celebrates the life of our dear member, Carmen Sarro, who had such a positive impact on the people and organizations in the Santa Clarita Valley,” said officials.
