Although staff members are still getting to know him, Cottontail has already made a strong impression.

According to the shelter, Cottontail is friendly with both people and other dogs, enjoys playing and appears to already have some beginning obedience skills. Staff members described him as a “must-meet” dog for families or individuals considering adoption.

Australian Kelpies are often known for their intelligence, energy and loyalty, making them popular companions for active households.

The SCV Animal Care Center continues to encourage residents to adopt, foster, and help reunite lost pets with their owners as shelters across Los Angeles County remain overcrowded.

Those interested in meeting Cottontail can visit the SCV Animal Care Center located at the SCV Animal Care Center. The shelter is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
