A lovable dog named Sparkles is hoping to find her forever family at the Santa Clarita Valley Animal Care Center.
Sparkles (A5603784) is a 5-year-old spayed female mixed-breed who arrived at the shelter on June 23 after being surrendered because her previous living situation was no longer suitable for her.
The chocolate-colored dog weighs about 93 pounds, and shelter volunteers say she could benefit from a little diet and exercise, but don’t let that fool you — Sparkles is ready to bring plenty of love and companionship to her next home.
Listed as a Flat-Coated Retriever mix, Sparkles’ exact breed combination is anyone’s guess. Dog lovers are invited to take a look and decide for themselves what breeds might make up her unique appearance.
Sparkles has not yet been formally tested with other dogs. Families who already have a canine companion are encouraged to bring their dog to the shelter for a meet-and-greet through the fence to see if they may be a good match.
Currently available for adoption and ready to go home, Sparkles is looking for a family willing to give her a second chance and help her enjoy a healthy, happy future.
The Santa Clarita Valley Animal Care Center, formerly known as the Castaic Animal Care Center, serves the Santa Clarita Valley and surrounding communities. The facility is located at 31044 N. Charlie Canyon Road in Castaic and is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
