If you’re looking for a fun, energetic companion to brighten your days, meet Kirby — a 1-year-old pit bull mix who’s stealing hearts at the Castaic Animal Care Center.

Kirby came to the shelter as a stray, but it didn’t take long for staff and volunteers to fall in love with his playful and curious personality. Weighing about 45 pounds, this pittie pup is full of life, loves attention, and enjoys exploring the world around him.

Kirby passed his evaluation with other large dogs and enjoys “rough and rowdy” playtime with canine friends. However, he’s not a fan of fence greetings, so a proper introduction is best when meeting new dogs.

Shelter volunteers describe him as a total favorite — affectionate, goofy, and always ready for a game of fetch or a long walk. With his sweet face and happy energy, Kirby is sure to make a loyal and loving addition to the right home.

Those interested in meeting Kirby can visit the Castaic Animal Care Center, located at 31044 N. Charlie Canyon Road in Castaic. The shelter is open for adoptions and meet-and-greets. For more information, call (661) 257-3191 and ask for Kirby, ID# A5728158.

Give this playful pup a second chance — and maybe a forever home — today.
