The same individual reported that Badger went after her small dog, and as a result, he has been designated as “rescue only” and is not recommended for placement in a home with small dogs.
Behavioral assessments conducted at the Castaic shelter describe Badger as calm and tolerant. He does not engage in play behavior but has shown no signs of aggression toward other dogs.
Staff observed that he remained relaxed when a young, energetic puppy licked his face and when other dogs approached him. The behavior team recommends that he be placed with calm, compatible dogs if introduced into a multi-dog home.
A 72-hour plea has been issued for Badger’s rescue placement. Shelter staff hope that a qualified rescue organization will come forward to provide him with the care and environment he needs.
For rescue inquiries or additional information about Badger, please contact the shelter as soon as possible. His Animal ID is A5733382.
