The Canyon Theatre Guild (CTG) announced their expanded fall workshop lineup, now online and designed specifically for remote participation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, after overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding their online summer workshops.

Offered workshops include singing, dancing, acting, audition tips, improv, cold reading, character development, scriptwriting and scene study. Additionally, live online shows titled “Super Happy Awesome News,” “Autumn and the Monsters” and “Firefly Kingdom” are expected to take place after every workshop.

Improv is scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays, with each after school improv class concluding with an online live improv show.

According to CTG’s press release, improv has been proved to provide many benefits during the challenging times of COVID-19, including improvement in “communication, decision making, working as a team, social interaction, confidence, active listening, physical awareness and helping with anxiety.”

Fridays will offer one class consisting of character development & scene study, a skill essential for actors to create complex characters and develop scenes.

Scenes will be performed on the final day of the workshop. Another Friday class is Theatrical Script Writing, offering participants the chance to write a theatrical script.

No previous experience is required for any workshop. To find out more about the Fall Workshops, email [email protected]
