Santa Clarita Regional Theater opened the Broadway musical Disney’s Frozen last weekend to public acclaim and standing ovations.
The opening performances were held at the Santa Clarita Performing Arts Center at College of the Canyons. Co‐directors Ted Tobin and SCRT Executive Artistic Director TimBen Boydston helmed the
production.
Boydston shared that “this family show has a beloved and iconic story, and theatergoers of every age enjoyed its debut at the PAC.” The full sixteen‐piece SCRT pit orchestra, under the direction of Patricia Graham, received notable accolades from the theater patrons.
Award‐winning Choreographer Kasmira Buchanan and Vocal Director Mary Purdy were likewise celebrated for their inspired interpretations. Costume designer Jean Paletz, Set Designer John Alexopoulos, Lighting Designer Stephanie Rush, and Emmy Award–winning Sound Designer Scott Weber were recognized by audience members for their outstanding contributions in creating the magical world that this iconic Disney tale inhabits.
