Karli Webster, a Santa Clarita native and former contestant on The Voice, released her debut single “When It’s Over” on the Hometown Morning Show with Tori and Kyle on KHTS Radio Friday.
The debut single is the first song to be released off of her highly anticipated five-song extended preview album (EP), ‘Bittersweet’.
Webster first entered the public spotlight in late 2017 when she was featured as a contestant on Season 13 of the NBC singing competition series, The Voice.
“I auditioned for The Voice, I was able to get a blind audition and I had the opportunity to sing You’re So Vain by Carly Simon, who I’m named after, for my blind audition,” said Webster. “I was chosen by Miley and I ended up being on her team up until the top-24, and then was sent home. But, it was great, and through that, Carly Simon found me and we’ve become good friends from my appearance on the show, from singing her song, which is nuts.”
Since her appearance on The Voice, Webster has continued to perform live, primarily across a number of venues throughout Santa Clarita.
“I want to work hard, I want to make this my life. And I love performing, so anytime I have the opportunity to do so, I’m going to do it,” said Webster. “And I’m so thankful for the Santa Clarita community, because it’s been places around town that have allowed me the opportunity to perform.”
In support of the forthcoming release of her EP, Webster is scheduled to perform a pre-release show in the Spiegeltent at Wolf Creek Brewery on Friday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Her evening performance is set to feature all of the songs from Webster’s EP that have yet to be released, as well as performances by The Band Lexington and Dakota Spencer.
The new single is available on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.
