This week there’s a multitude of different projects being filmed, with crime shows like NCIS, SWAT and CSI: Vegas being the most popular.

Television:

NCIS

The long-running crime show has been on screens since 2003, churning out 20 seasons. 

Santa Clarita is a popular filming destination for NCIS, which follows a colorful group of investigators who investigate crimes from murder and espionage to terrorism.

SWAT

Based on the 1975 series of the same name, “SWAT” follows Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson (Shemar Moore of “Criminal Minds”), a Los Angeles S.W.A.T. lieutenant, assigned to lead a highly skilled unit in the community where he grew up. 

Torn between loyalty to the streets, where the cops are sometimes the enemy and allegiance to his brothers in blue, he strategically straddles the two worlds.

CSI Vegas

With the entire crime lab on the brink of collapse and thousands of convicted killers potentially set free in the bright lights of Sin City, a crack team of investigators band together and use cutting-edge forensic techniques to do what they do best: follow the evidence. 

Only by doing so can they save justice in Sin City. The “CSI” franchise has produced a plethora of spin-offs, but this will be the first sequel to the original series.

Cesar Millan: Better Human Better Dog

Cesar Millan, a Santa Clarita local, has made his reputation known as the Dog Whisperer, training even the most difficult dogs. 

His show, Better Human Better Dog follows Millan as he visits people struggling with their furry pets, providing training to the dogs and the new pet parents. 

In addition, he helps pet parents to better understand the connection that dogs have with their humans and how people’s actions can influence just how well, or poorly, their dogs behave.  

The show is undergoing filming for its fourth season and is available on Hulu and Disney+.

Callback

“The funniest series of the year,” “Callback” chronicles the artistic failures and miscommunications of two misfit performers vying for acceptance.

Jeffrey Bridges, John Lithgow and Amy Brenneman feature in “The Old Man,” which is based on Thomas Perry’s best-selling book of the same name. 

Dan Chase (Jeffery Bridges), who escaped the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid ever since is the main character of “The Old Man.”  

The veteran agent discovers that he must make amends with his past to secure his future when an assassin shows up and attempts to kill him.

It is a thriller that explores the disparities that exist in race and classism and how closely the two are connected.
