Santa Clarita Invites Community To Participate In City Talent Show

The City of Santa Clarita is hosting a monthly talent show throughout 2020 and is inviting the community to participate.

All ages are being sought to take part in the first monthly talent show, “You’re The Best,” set to start at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 23 at The MAIN in Old Town Newhall.

“The show is an outrageous and ridiculous evening of entertainment, fun and mayhem,” said City spokesperson Carrie Lujan in an official statement. “Audiences will be encouraged to let their hair down, not take themselves or others too seriously, throw inhibitions out the door and expect the unexpected.”

The City is looking for people who sing, dance, act, play music, do martial arts, have an animal act or want to showcase their unique skill, according to Lujan. The competition is open to all ages and skill levels.

Each monthly “You’re The Best” will have a winner, selected by the audience, who is to receive a 50 dollar gift card. In late 2020, each monthly winner is able to win $500 in a grand finale, according to officials.

  1. Sounds like fun, but, what, about the worst area of SCV a mile away, rampant with gang bangers that refuse to assimilate to decent American ways?! Constant shootings, stabbings, robberies, theft, etc.!?!?

  2. This is the thread about the talent show. Go to city hall about the other stuff. This sounds like a great idea and I’m sure it’s going to be fun!

  3. JoJo, you sound like a broken record with you veiled racist and xenophobic rants. You do know that “patriotism” is the last refuge for the scoundrel.

  4. Non-shinning Star: Nothing was mentioned about race, sex, age, gender—-In view of the facts/truths about reality, who are you trying to excuse/protect??! When we don’t become patriotic for decent ways of living, the scoundrels win & take over decent society—Look at Newsom’s & Garrshity’s LA/San Francisco/San Diego/etc. !! What would happen if a nice family grabbed an ice cream & went for a walk after the show in that area?!
