Santa Clarita Residents Invited To ‘pArts’ Exhibit Showcasing Recycled Materials Made Into Art

Santa Clarita residents are invited to the “pArts” art exhibit at the Westfield Valencia Town Center starting Wednesday to see how an artist makes artwork from recycled materials, officials said.

The art exhibit is scheduled to be on display at the Westfield Valencia Town Center Art Space starting Wednesday, Feb. 12 and ending April 6, according to officials.

With a passion for the environment and a creative mind, Suzi Kades is set to show in her solo art exhibit random and odd materials collected to create little figures and scenes, according to officials.

Her belief that anything can be created from something is evident in her works, officials said.

By showcasing her creative talents, Kades hopes to inspire all ages to recycle and repurpose old materials into a creative outlet, according to officials.

The community is invited to attend the reception on Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m., with food, drinks, music and art set to be provided.

The Town Center Art Space is located at 24201 Valencia Boulevard.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
