As Hollywood’s backlot, Santa Clarita has a number of television shows set to film this week in the city. For locals, the sight of film trailers and crews in popular filming locations like Old Town Newhall is a familiar sight.

Here’s what’s filming this week in Santa Clarita.

Television:

Good Trouble

A spin-off series of the Freeform show “The Fosters” , this show follows Foster sisters Callie and Mariana in Los Angeles. The two sisters face trials and tribulations with new neighbors and new romances as they navigate the world after college.

Mariana tackles the male-dominated world of tech, and Callie faces the harsh realities of the legal system as she clerks for a federal judge. Produced by Jennifer Lopez and starring Maia Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez.

CSI: Vegas

The follow-up to the groundbreaking crime procedural “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” this fifth installment in the CSI franchise brings viewers back to the deserts and hills of Santa Clarita – ahem,  “Las Vegas” – for more scientific crime-solving.

With the return of several fan favorites from the original series, the second season of “CSI: Las Vegas” is set to release its next episode on Thursday, Jan. 5.

Mayans MC

Airing in 2018 and with four seasons, Mayans MC follows the life of Ezekiel “EZ” Reyes, a newly patched member of the Mayans M.C. charter on the California/Mexico border. Once a golden boy with the American Dream within his grasp, EZ and his brother Angel are closer than ever after uncovering the truth behind their mother’s murder.

Faced with carving out a new identity for himself in his small town, EZ’s need for vengeance drives him toward a life he never intended. Meanwhile, their father Felipe struggles to reconcile the choices he and his sons have made.

NCIS

The long-running crime show has been on screens since 2003, churning out 20 seasons. Santa Clarita is a popular filming destination for NCIS, which follows a colorful group of investigators who investigate crimes from murder and espionage to terrorism.

Botched

When someone has cosmetic surgery, it doesn’t always turn out as planned. So what happens when a procedure is botched? If they’re on this reality program, they head to renowned plastic surgeons Paul Nassif and Terry Dubrow, who try to reverse damages from the original procedure.

Each hour-long episode follows a patient through the process of correcting failed operations, from the complex procedures to the intensive recovery process and – ultimately – the reveal of the successful transformation.

The Sterling Affairs

This FX miniseries dramatizes the downfall of Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling as the team works its way toward a championship under coach Doc Rivers. Ed O’Neill is set to star in the project opposite Oscar-nominated actors Laurence Fishburn and Jacki Weaver, who play Doc Rivers and Sterling’s wife Shelly, respectively.

At 6 episodes, the miniseries is set to tell the behind-the-scenes story of the Clippers’ quest for an NBA championship, and Sterling’s notoriously racist behavior being dragged into the public light amidst a power struggle with his wife and his mistress.
