A gas main break was reported in the Skyline Ranch construction area Monday afternoon, officials said.

The gas main break was reported just before 3 p.m. Monday near Stratus Street and Skyline Ranch Road in Canyon Country, according to Franklin Lopez with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“It is a four-inch gas main pipe spewing gas,” Lopez said. “There are no residents in the area.”

Southern California Gas Company officials have been dispatched to the incident, according to Lopez.

A 600-foot exclusionary zone was set up around the gas main break as a precaution, according to Fire officials.

No injuries have been reported as of 3:10 p.m. Monday. Construction workers evacuated the area prior to firefighters arriving on scene.
