A helicopter was requested for a lost hiker near Whitney Canyon Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
UPDATE: 5 p.m. — The hiker was found with no major injuries, according to Fire officials.
The incident was reported at about 4:05 p.m. Tuesday near the 14 Freeway at Newhall Avenue, according to Chris Thomas with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“He is stuck 20 feet from the ridgetop near a waterfall,” Thomas said.
Santa Clarita Valley Search and Rescue personnel was also requested to assist in the search for the lost hiker, according to Sheriff’s officials.
As of 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, the search remains ongoing, according to Fire officials.
