Over 100 Inmates At Pitchess Detention Center Involved In Altercation, Two Hospitalized

Over 100 inmates at Pitchess Detention Center were involved in a large-scale altercation early Saturday morning, with two sent to the hospital, officials said.

About 160 inmates at the detention center’s North County Correctional Facility (NCCF) were involved in a disturbance, according to Deputy Joanna Warren with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Information Bureau.

The cause of the incident is still being determined by the Jail Investigation Unit, according to Warren.

Three separate dorms within one block of the jail facility were involved in the altercation, according to Sheriff’s officials.

A total of five inmates were injured in the incident, with no deputies injured, Warren said.

At about 4:17 a.m. Saturday, firefighters responded to Pitchess Detention Center on the 29300 block of The Old Road in Castaic for the report of an assault.

The condition of the inmates transported is unknown as of Saturday morning, according to officials.

  1. Devon Miller as usual doesn’t tell enough of the facts/truths! The big headlines say over a 100 , then he says 160 in a altercation—what accuracies are that!? They we’re playing “Patty cake” and it became unpleasant?! What went on, who did it, what did they look like, gangs, drugs, the horrible racism?!?!?! And after that horrible, unspeakable riot—only 5 arrested/hospitalized!?!? Tell the truth/facts!!

    • JoJo, 160 is over 100. And maybe it just happened this morning and they are still investigating. Also “only 5 arrested/hospitalized” they have all been arrested. THATS WHY THEY ARE IN JAIL.

      • What else would you expect from the bastard hate-child of Nancy Grace, Jerry Springer and Rush Limbaugh? (you figure that one out) All the lurid details would never be enough for his/her tabloid mentality.

        • Denny: How dare you use a non PC word like Bastard! Nowadays all behavior is supposed to be OK, loved, encouraged, excused!? I would be proud to be Limbaugh’s Bastard child, but sickened to be Grace & Springers Bastard or properly born child! It’s frustrating when metrosexual pajama boys use PC words.to downplay bad behavior like a disturbance or altercation, instead of vicious fight/riot by convicted criminals!

    • You gotta admit Jo that Do is right.! More importantly it was breaking news n all the facts weren’t in yet . They just wanted to give a heads up. However, so much for social distancing . Guaranteed nobody had masks on and guaranteed one outa the 100-160 has the virus.

  2. You do have to admit jo that do is right. Give em a break! All the facts ain’t been made clear , they just wanted to make u aware of some breaking news that happened just hrs before they let you know. In the other hand , so much for social distancing and it’s 99.2% guarantee nobody had masks. More likely than not at least one outa the 100-160 has the virus !

  3. Do you have any more information on this? I can’t find this information anywhere else.

  4. The guards/cops came in with tear gas and started shooting at inmates. Lets be real they are in jail and officers take advantage of situations like these to use excessive force. Inmates in jail have no guns but the cops do. How would we know when we can’t see what goes inside these jail facilities. Cops just throw everyone in the hole and blame it on the inmates and say they started fighting as usual. Hope they are exposed for the horrible shit that goes on in jails aka “rehabilitation center”
