120 gather to hear him speak

Last week, Congressman Buck McKeon stepped into the spotlight in front of 160 community leaders.

The group had gathered at KHTS owners Carl and Jeri Goldman’s home to hear Congressman McKeon speak about issues he is dealing with.

The topics covered by McKeon included the challenges in Congress with Republicans as a minority, and his support of Presidential candidate Mitt Romney. He also said that he expects to introduce new Cemex legislation soon, and he is waiting for the City and Cemex to finalize their agreement.

Of course, other legislative issues such as immigration and the impact unions have on lobbying efforts were also discussed.

The night was not a fundraiser for McKeon. Instead it was designed to operate as a forum. McKeon will be holding a fundraiser, however, in September.
