A common New Year’s resolution is to declutter, and you can securely get rid of old documents or hard drives with the help of Confidential Data Destruction in Santa Clarita.

“What people really don’t know still is that anything you throw in your trash can is public property,” said Owner Steve Sturgeon. “So people can pilfer that … and if there’s something in there that you’ve thrown away that’s got your account numbers, (personal) information on it, bank statements, anything along that line — you could be in trouble.”

Confidential Data Destruction’s customers can actually watch their documents or hard drives be destroyed with the help of a camera on the inside of the company’s truck, which shows the data moving down conveyor belts and through shredding blades.

You don’t want that in the hands of somebody that might be bad.”

Businesses can set up an ongoing account with Confidential Data Destruction, where they can choose from a variety of different sized containers that are locked and secure to place at their business, where they can store data that needs to be destroyed until company officials come to pick it up.
