The Santa Clarita Valley of Commerce (SCV Chamber) has announced a monthly roundtable with local business owners to discuss the viability and ensure the continuance of each business.
The roundtable, which was announced Monday, is set to hold its first meeting virtually on Friday, Nov. 13 from 7 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and plans to continue to hold meetings on the second Friday of each month at the same scheduled time. The meeting can be accessed by emailing the SCV Chamber here.
“Our Small Business Council has been boots on the ground for the past several months, specifically during the pandemic,” said Brian Schlick, chair of the SCV Chamber Small Business Council. “The Small Business Roundtable will host business owners from all sectors, as they discuss a specific topic each month that is pertinent to a business’ success.”
The Small Business Council has three main goals. The first goal of the council is to advise the SCV Chamber on small business-related issues and programming and networking opportunities. The second is to support the Chamber’s “Retail Walks” with elected officials.
The third goal of the council is to promote the nationwide “Small Business Saturday” program which highlights small businesses on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
Additionally, the Small Business Council promotes increased membership and participation in the chamber.
Monthly roundtables are expected to touch on a variety of topics including sales, taxes, operational efficiencies, trademark, online marketing and employee incentives.
At each session, a professional is to be invited to speak on a more technical topic and provide personal insight into current rules and regulations that may apply to small businesses in the SCV. Attendees at this part of the session must be Chamber members.
“We are determined to ensure that small businesses are able to adapt, survive and thrive during these uncertain times” stated Ivan Volschenk, managing partner for Evolve Business Strategies, which manages the SCV Chamber of Commerce. “The launch of our Small Business Roundtable offers business owners the platform to identify priorities and ensure our businesses’ voices are not just heard but asked for.”
