Senator Scott Wilk To Host Small Business Forum

A free workshop hosted by Senator Scott Wilk is scheduled for Nov. 14, and is expected to cover a range of topics important to business owners and managers, officials said.

Topics expected to be covered include tips on ensuring a business is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), updates on new California employment laws, what to know about Prop 65, lawsuit abuse and more, according to Wilk.

“This workshop is focused on helping small businesses avoid lawsuits involving the ADA,” said Kris Hough, field representative for Wilk’s Valencia office.

In addition to the information available at the forum, refreshments are also expected to be provided.

The forum is open to the public and set to take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14 at The Centre in the Sycamore Room.

The Centre is located at 28088 Centre Pointe Parkway, near the Santa Clarita Sports Complex.

The Small Business Forum is co-hosted by Civil Justice In Action and Civil Justice Association of California.

  1. Hey Scott,
Ask the small businesses how they like having their electricity turned off when Edison is breaking wind. Explain to them how they are supposed to stay ADA compliant when the power is off and how they are to earn money to pay for the ADA compliance when the power is turned off.
